How Long Does a Typical Treatment Take?
Treatment duration varies depending on the area being treated. Smaller areas like the upper lip may only take five minutes, while larger areas like the back or legs may require up to 45 minutes.
Why Are Multiple Treatments Needed?
Hair naturally grows in different stages, and not all hair follicles are active simultaneously. With multiple treatments, we can effectively target and reduce unwanted hair as it cycles through the growth phases.
What Results Can I Expect?

Is There Any Downtime?

Contraindications
There are some conditions that laser hair removal should be avoided.
- Pregnancy
- History of melanoma, raised moles, suspicious lesions, keloid scar formation, healing problems, active infections, open lesions, hives, herpetic lesions, cold sores, tattoos or permanent make-up in area of treatment.
- Recent use of Accutane, tetracycline, or St. John’s wort in the last year.
- Autoimmune diseases such as Lupus, Scleroderma, Vitiligo.
- There is no evidence that laser hair removal would affect breastfeeding or your breastfed baby. Please see here. However, it is better to talk to your doctor before doing it during breastfeeding period.
Pre/Post Treatment Advice
For optimal and safe results, please follow these pre and post-treatment guidelines:
- Shave the treatment area, avoiding waxing, threading, plucking, or electrolysis. Hair should not be removed from the root for effective laser treatment.
- Minimize sun exposure, sunbeds, and fake tans two weeks before and after treatment.
- Avoid heat-stimulating activities, saunas, hot showers/pools, and intense exercise for 48 hours.
- Refrain from chemical peels and other laser procedures in the treated area two weeks before and after laser hair removal.
- Avoid active ingredients and retinol-based products for 3-5 days before and after facial treatment.
- Do not apply lotions or deodorants to the treated area for 48 hours.
- Use the post-procedure Dr. Aspect Soothing Gel twice a day for the next 5 days.
- Apply broad-spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 50+ sunscreen during and after laser treatments for ongoing skin protection.
- Exfoliate treated areas after 7 days to reduce the risk of ingrown hairs.
